This weekend was exceptional for me as an Uber driver. Not only did I excel in my earnings, reaching an impressive $882, but I also maintained an effective hourly margin of $32.29 after expenses. You can delve into the details of my earnings through this spreadsheet.

But the real highlight of my weekend was the surge in tips. Over the past few weeks, I noticed a downtrend in my tips, which concerned me. So, I decided to improve my game and ensure top-notch customer service for every trip.

I set up a trivia slideshow on an iPad in the backseat to add a fun twist. This entertained my passengers and included a few slides introducing myself as their driver, adding a personal touch to the ride. This approach resonated well with a subtle reminder to consider tipping.

The results? Out of the 93 trips I completed, 44 resulted in tips. That's a 47% tipping rate, a significant increase from my usual 30%. Tips constituted 23% of my income this weekend, a noticeable jump from 10-15%.
