Major Update: New York Uber and Lyft Drivers to Get Minimum Wage
News broke about a claim in the state of New York regarding wage theft amounting to $320 million from Uber and Lyft drivers. The state believes the drivers weren't compensated adequately. The resulting effect is that drivers in New York will now earn a minimum wage of $26 per hour, but only when they are picking up or dropping off a passenger. If the app is on and they are idle, they will not earn this wage. In addition, drivers are also set to receive paid sick time.
