Reintroducing Myself: Levi Spires, Your Guide to Thriving as an Uber Driver
About Me
I'm Levi Spires, primarily an Uber driver, though I'm branching out to Lyft this year. Currently, I navigate the streets of Syracuse, New York, in my trusty Toyota Prius. Before embracing the rideshare world, I crunched numbers as an accountant for a bunch of businesses, even for the Air Force, and earned my MBA from Syracuse University.
Family-wise, I'm happily married, a father of three, and a proud grandfather. You'll find me hitting the golf course when I'm not behind the wheel - it's my go-to activity.
Why Tip You in the App?
So, why the shift from accounting to driving? Simple: I craved more than just a paycheck. I created "Tip You in the App" to foster a community where we, as drivers, can share tips and experiences and support each other in staying healthy and safe while enjoying our work.
Yes, the transition wasn't all smooth sailing. The earnings didn't match my expectations, and safety concerns are a real challenge. But, the satisfaction and enjoyment I've found in this new path outweigh the hurdles.
The name "Tip You in the App" stems from that all-too-familiar promise from passengers – a promise of a tip that often doesn't materialize. While initially frustrating, I've moved past the disappointment. I hope this platform helps us reclaim those lost tips in spirit if not currency.
I produce content for Uber and Lyft rideshare drivers on YouTube.
I maintain a Facebook group for Uber and Lyft rideshare drivers. I even co-manage the biggest rideshare Facebook group too.
I have a TikTok account which is more about the fun side of rideshare and geared for riders.
I talk a lot about marketing and content on my LinkedIn page.
X is where I talk about anything and everything, which is still mostly Uber and some golf tweets too.
